Veterinary Receptionist

Based at Anstead & Marburg, QLD

Are you a friendly, professional, and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our clinics in Anstead and Marburg. As part of our front-of-house team, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding service to both clients and their pets.

Our Anstead practice consists of a small animal clinic and equine hospital, and our Marburg practice consists of a small animal clinic and equine reproduction centre. We practice a high standard of medicine and surgery in our well-equipped, modern and very busy practices.

The successful applicate must display excellent customer service and receptionist skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to problem solve and prioritise work, be computer literate (prior knowledge of veterinary computer operating systems will be highly regarded), and understand of veterinary terminology, the ability to manage deadlines, be well presented and have a ability to work both unsupervised and within a team. Prior experience in a veterinary receptionist role and/or veterinary nursing experience is essential. Equine knowledge or equine nursing experience would also be considered advantageous.

The position is for shifts Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday work. Ideal candidates would ideally work 2-3 days per week to full-time.

About the Role

This is a client-facing, fast-paced role that requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. You will be working closely with our vets, nurses, and fellow reception staff to ensure a smooth, supportive experience for every pet owner who walks through our doors.
Your daily tasks may include:
  • Greeting clients and checking in patients
  • Scheduling appointments and managing bookings across both clinics
  • Answering phones and directing phone calls
  • Responding to email enquiries
  • Processing payments
  • Assisting with client paperwork, reminders, and follow-ups
  • Liaising with the clinical team to ensure timely and clear communication
  • Supporting a calm and welcoming reception area for pets and people
  • ‘Front of House’ duties

About You

Experience in a vet clinic, medical practice, or customer service role is highly valued, but we are happy to train the right person with the right attitude.
You do not need to be a vet nurse, but you do need to be:
  • Passionate about animals and exceptional client care
  • Friendly, patient, and professional in your communication
  • Able to multitask and stay composed during busy periods
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using veterinary or medical software
  • Organised, reliable, and a strong team player
